Events

The Black Down and Hindhead Supporters Committee runs a programme of public events each year, which are offered free or at a reduced cost to our members.

We also support a number of other events organised by the local National Trust teams and local affiliated community groups. If you are considering hosting an event to support the National Trust, do get in touch. We will publish updates to all featured events as they become available.

Swan Barn Farm Wassail

AGM & 2025 Educate and Inspire Lecture

Wednesday evening 4th June 2025

Join us for our brief Annual General Meeting followed by the Educate and Inspire Lecture.  The 2025 lecture will be delivered by Professor Sam Turner, Professor of Archaeology at Newcastle University.  Free to members, £5 to non-members.  Booking essential!

Wildflower Walk at Swan Barn Farm

A guided wildflower walk in June with local botanist, Andy Swan – this year exploring the beautiful countryside at the National Trust’s Swan Barn Farm, a stone’s throw from Haslemere High Street.  Places limited, so please contact us if interested: admin@blackdownhindheadntsupporters.org

Punch Bowl Challenges

Punch Bowl Challenges

Black Down & Hindhead Supporters of the National Trust hope to work with local runners again to put on the ever popular Punch Bowl Challenge runs in 2025.  Funds raised from the event to be split between the local National Trust estates and local primary school PTAs.

Photographic Competition 2025

The Black Down and Hindhead Supporters of the National Trust Committee runs an annual competition for the best photos taken of or from the National Trust properties around Hindhead and Haslemere. The full list of eligible sites is included in the rules (download here)

Colour photos as always, or why not enter our monochrome category this year?

Entry is free, but donations towards the local National Trust sites are all warmly welcomed. Up to two images can be submitted, by email to admin@blackdownhindheadntsupporters.org indicating the photographer’s name, age (if under 16) and where each image was taken. Raymond Reid Photo is kindly sponsoring the event, with voucher prizes for the best three photos by adult and by junior photographers. Deadline 30th November 2025.
