Summer is a magical time to visit the Devil’s Punch Bowl as on a sunny day the views are spectacular. At weekends, head over to the shepherd’s hut by the café to borrow a tracker pack; they contain spotter sheets, pencils, binoculars and a compass to help your little ones explore the great outdoors.

Wheels and wellies are a fun way to traverse the tarmac track up to the Gibbet with its grisly history of a murdered sailor and the capture and punishment of the villains. Find the Sailor’s Stone and the Celtic Cross before heading back to the café to warm up with a hot chocolate… the walk should take 30-40 minutes.
